WASH in Emergencies Trainings

WIE-Kurs
Why

In close cooperation with partner organisations of the WASH network, German Toilet Organization has developed a 3-week practice-oriented intensive course on the topic of WASH in emergency and transition assistance. This is carried out annually in three modules (one basic course and two advanced courses on the topics "Water supply in emergency assistance" and "Sanitation and hygiene promotion in emergency assistance"). The courses are given in German.

The 3-day basic course gives a comprehensive overview on humanitarian assistance, the UN cluster system and in particular the WASH cluster, the sphere minimum standards in the field of WASH, as well as the general technical and non-technical intervention options, special features and challenges in the field of WASH in humanitarian assistance. The 5-day practical modules provide a comprehensive overview of technical and non-technical intervention options, special features and challenges in the field of WASH in humanitarian assistance and provide the tools for a WASH emergency response.

The individual course modules are designed in such a way that they build on each other in terms of content and result in a complete package, but also function independently as individual modules. Numerous project examples, case studies, practical exercises and simulations enable a sustainable and application-oriented learning success.
