Entwicklungspolitisches Bildungs- und Informationszentrum

The Entwicklungspolitische Bildungs- und Informationszentrum, EPIZ (Development education and information center) is a non-profit association that has been offering comprehensive theoretical and practical expertise on global learning topics in the field of development education since 1986. On behalf of the Berlin Senate, EPIZ works on the implementation of development guidelines of the State of Berlin with the aim of contributing to the anchoring of global learning in the education system.

The EPIZ aims to promote and optimize the development information and education work that disseminates the idea of the One World in the public consciousness and contributes to understanding between people worldwide as well as to the formation of tolerant and supportive action. EPIZ is a central institution for global learning in Berlin.

GTO and EPIZ

As an active member, German Toilet Organization (GTO) participates and contributes to the regular meetings of the network. It helps to shape global learning events on the topics of water, sanitation and hygiene. GTO was also involved in the production of a brochure for teachers of development education in Berlin/Brandenburg, of the Berlin Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family.
