Sustainable Sanitation Alliance
The Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) is an open network composed of around 400 partner organisations and around 15,000 individual members dedicated to promoting sustainable sanitation systems. Its partner organisations come from civil society, the private sector and academia and also include governmental and semi-governmental organisations. SuSanA was founded in the run-up to the "International Year of Sanitation 2008". The overarching objective of SuSanA and its 13 thematic working groups is to contribute to the achievement of the sustainability goals (SDGs) by promoting a systems approach to sanitation that takes into account all aspects of sustainability. The Secretariat of SuSanA is located at the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The SuSanA offers a variety of tools to actors in the sanitary sector, including a comprehensive library, a discussion forum, news mails, topic-specific working groups and face-to-face meetings.
